Examples of a few successful people

To the continuation of my previous post , I would like to quote these three examples which I think is relevant to the issue that I had discussed last.

This is my first "real" example :

Dr. Balamurali : "It has helped us blossom into citizens capable of serving our community to our fullest".

Here is a person who has pursued Medicine as his career more than career it has been his "Passion ". Balamurali Ambati of India is the world's youngest doctor at the age of 17. He is a National Merit Scholar and a winner in the Westinghouse Science Talent Search & the International Science & Engineering Fair, who is presently working as an Ophthalmologist, physician in the Duke University, NC.

Balamurali Ambati has been a child prodigy. He was twice as fast as other children of his age. His father taught him and his brother to remain focused and go for the desired goals. He has written a book on AIDS with his brother, who is also a doctor.

Below are a few words told by him during an interview :

Is medicine the best individual choice for so many of our youth?
The rewards of medicine are indeed great: essentially guaranteed financial security aside, the satisfaction of assuaging suffering and the daily intellectual challenge are unmatched by most other fields. But there is a steep price to pay in the pursuit of becoming a doctor, whether or not one succeeds in getting an MD

What motivates you?
To make a difference. I realize that what I have done in the past should not be the end-all--that would be depressing! It should be a stepping stone, and to leave things better than when you find them, to be useful in the truest sense, that is very important to me.

This is my second example:

I remember this Telugu movie named "Vasu", is also based on the topic that I have spoken here. It is a very realistic movie which is one of my favourites. Its got a good storyline and a very nice, comic acting by the hero Venkatesh, and the pretty Bhumika.

The storyline goes this way - After graduation, Vasu (Venkatesh) runs a college canteen, music school and teaches music for seven years to make his living. His father (Vijay Kumar) is an IPS officer and he wants Vasu to appear for Civil Services examinations to take up IPS career.

But Vasu has different plans for his future. He dreams of becoming a musician and a singer. One fine day a young IPS officer comes to Vasu's place to seek the blessings of Vasu's father, dejected that his son does not heed his advice of giving civil exams, feels bad about his son.

Vasu passes the preliminary auditions of Music Talent search conducted by Sony Music Company. Then the story becomes a bit serious when his father asks him to leave the house if he wants to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. Finally, towards the end our hero Vasu does a lot of hard work and practices with full effort and proves himself as a singer and musician in the final auditions of Sony Talent Search.

This would be my third "real" example :

He is none other than the honest and sincere IPS officer Mr.Senthil Velan, who has been awarded for investigating the murder case of Mr.Sivasami, Assistant of Dr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy, Founder Pro-Chancellor,Annamalai University and also a Rajya Sabha Member. This is a real incident that had happened on Jan 30th in Chidambaram district of Tamil Nadu.

I am sure you will be wondering, as even I did, as to what is great in this. But the fact is Mr. Senthil Velan is an MBBS doctor. He was being forced to study Medicine by his parents, whereas his interestes was in becoming an IPS officer. Today, he is a very successful officer and also being awarded by the state chief minister too for his excellence.

The above said first example conveys the message as to how his father supported him achieving his Doctorate. The second and the third, both of them have gone against their parents wish and proved themselves to be successful in their interested field .

I hope these three examples are very inspiring as they were to me....
